$mart Gamblers are no luckier than anyone else. They are more
successful though due to their knowledge of gambling and
application of winning techniques. This tutorial covers chance,
improving luck, winning attitudes and handling winning and
losing.
CHANCE
Chance is defined as events that happen unpredictably without a
discernible cause. Most all gambling events are random chance
occurances.
When human emotions are added to chance occurances, they are
transformed into what we refer to as luck. When desirable events
occur we feel we have had good luck. When undesirable events
occur we feel we have had bad luck.
There are no lucky people just as there are no unlucky people.
There are just chance occurances that happen unpredictably and at
random. These chance occurances often occur in streaks of
desirable or undesirable events. Everyone has streaks of good
days, weeks, months or years just as everyone has bad streaks.
Normally these streaks are short in duration but some will be
longer. Normally they will balance out although we may tend to
remember and focus on the positive or negative ones. At times
the streaks may seem unreal and impossible but they are all the
result of chance occurances.
When $mart Gamblers win they accept it while maintaining their
plan and control. When they lose they also accept it knowing
that it was just the result of unpredictable chance occurances.
When favorable or unfavorable streaks occur, the $mart Gambler
keeps things in proper focus knowing it is quite normal. In the
long run, the $mart Gambler knows that their results will be
close to the statistical expectation of the games played and bets
placed.
IMPROVING LUCK
$mart Gamblers improve their chance of success or luck by several
means. First they have a thorough knowledge of the games to play
and the bets to place. Additionally in games with decision
making situations they have the skill to make the right choices.
The $mart Gambler program tutorials on specific casino games
provide this type of information.
Next the $mart Gambler understands the importance of money
management and uses it in their casino gambling. They plan their
bet size based on the bankroll they have allocated for gambling.
If their bankroll doesn't justify bet sizes that they would like
to make, they don't place them. Instead they find gambling
opportunities that correspond to their bankroll.
Remember, chance events often occur in streaks. The $mart
Gambler has an adequate bankroll for the bets placed to weather
negative streaks. By having it they will still be in action for
an ultimate change in direction. The $mart Gambler program
tutorial on money management provides more information.
Lastly $mart Gamblers have absolute self-discipline and control.
Before starting a casino gambling trip or session, they plan what
games they are going to play, bets they are going to make and
actions they will take. During the session they do not deviate
from the general plan. The results of their gambling will be
recorded and analyzed. The information used to plan and improve
the next gambling trip.
Sustained good luck requires knowledge, money and control.
Patience is also highly beneficial. Many gamblers complain about
bad luck. Talk to them and it will usually be discovered that
the reasons are a lack knowledge, inadequate bankroll and loss of
control.
WINNING ATTITUDE
$mart Gamblers know that like anything else in life, success in
gambling requires a positive mental attitude. You can win if you
think you can win.
It is often said that winning is a state of mind. Losing is also
a state of mind. Before beginning a gambling trip or session,
$mart Gamblers get rid of any reasons they may have to lose. A
few gamblers really don't gamble to win. It is easier and less
disappointing if they expect to lose. Some gamble because they
are frustrated or angry or they want to get back at someone or
something. Some just don't feel worthy of winning.
Top athletes prepare physically and mentally for competition and
visualize winning. $mart Gamblers do the same. Most casinos are
24 hour a day operations or close to it. The human body is not.
Get adequate rest, eat and drink sensibly and occasionally do
something else than gamble. Do not play if sick, tired, lonely,
upset about something or anxious about the results. If the time
isn't available to take care of the body and prepare mentally to
gamble, the time isn't available to gamble.
Being in top condition increases the chance of success many ways.
First the $mart Gambler will be ready to recognize and respond to
favorable chance situations correctly. Secondly negative streaks
will not wear down confidence as much. Lastly they will be more
likely to retain self-discipline when their senses are fully
intact.
$mart Gamblers are secure in their knowledge of gambling and know
that long run results will be close to statistical expectations.
When in a negative streak, they know if they maintain a high
state of readiness to respond to favorable chances, the results
can be turned around quickly. In games of skill, they know in
the long run that it is not so important what cards they may get
but how they play the cards they get.
One last word on winning attitudes. Some gamblers believe that
they have strong intuitions that they are going to win a given
chance event. Be very leery of intuitions. Most times intuition
is confused with a strong wish to win or false expectation that a
win is due. $mart Gamblers feel they do their best if they do
not hope desperately to win but simply find and play their best
game.
HANDLING WINNING
Winning normally takes care of its self pretty well but there is
one major caution. When the $mart Gambler has a favorable streak
they guard against becoming over confident. Streaks are random
and unpredictable chance occurances. At times it may feel that a
favorable streak will go on forever. There is however no way to
know if the streak is going to continue or abruptly change.
The $mart Gambler when winning or otherwise will not raise bets
beyond planned levels or make unwise bets on poor chances or
"long shots." They will maintain control, know approximately the
state of their bankroll and quit when they reach a predetermined
stop point. These actions will ensure greater success and build
confidence in their gambling.
HANDLING LOSING
A large factor in long term success or failure in gambling will
depend on how losing is handled. No gambler will win all the
time. Some may claim to win all or most of the time but cannot
substantiate it.
When the $mart Gambler loses they understand that in chance
events it happens and they accept it. They take a break, clear
up their head and get ready for the next session or trip with
fresh perspective and confidence. Every gambling bet, session
and trip is a new chance. Do not let a loss influence the
future. Streaks can be long and seem unreal but they are within
the realm of statistical expectations.
The $mart Gambler may lose a bet, a session or a trip but never
their self-control. They know that money saved is as good as
money won. In keeping self-control, the $mart Gambler is
prepared to respond to favorable chances. Turnarounds can be
very sudden and dramatic. They are well within the realm of
statistical expectations and make gambling exciting.
Maintaining self-control also builds the $mart Gambler's self-
respect. Everyone is human however and lapses in self-control
may occur. If they do occur it is important not to dwell on
them. Learn from them and move on. Recommit to maintaining
self-control. As more experience is gained the lapses will be
lessen.
One last word on losing. The $mart Gambler program tutorials on
Odds and specific games provide information on the statistical
expectation of the different games and bets. The $mart Gambler
program's reporting features allow actual results to be tracked.
If it is found that actual results are significantly worst than
the statistical expectation, the following is recommended.
Review the Odds and specific game tutorial and be sure that the
best type games are being played in and that the best bets are
being made.
Next be sure that the results of each gambling session is being
accurately reported as soon as possible after playing. It may be
that sessions are too long or too short and may want to change
slightly. In too long sessions, concentration may be being lost.
In too short sessions, the opportunity to have a favorable streak
may not be being realized.
Lastly be completely honest on the issue of maintaining self-
control when gambling. Are there significant lapses in
controlling games played, bets placed, bankroll limits, stop
points reached or other factors?
SUMMARY
$mart Gamblers prosper in casino gambling due to a belief that
winning is possible and a resolve to be successful. They ensure
their luck with superior knowledge, sufficient capital and self-
discipline. This doesn't lessen their enjoyment of gambling but
increases it.
